Visual Impact this week – Epson to show new SC F2260 Hybrid DTG/DTF garment printer

The SureColor F2260 will be the third generation of Epson’s top-selling desktop DTG model. The SureColor F2260 is due to be released in July. It will feature a number of upgrades, making it faster and more effective while also increasing support for DTF (direct-tofilm) production workflow.

The printer features a PrecisionCore Printhead with a 33% increase in size for improved performance. The printer comes with the upgraded Garment Creator 2 Software, which not only provides additional functionality to users but also allows for a more efficient output and finer imaging details.

Epson has given considerable thought to the operator’s experience. Installation and operation have been made easier with a number of refinements. The case has a more ergonomic shape with a squarer top, a flat side, and a transparent platen cover. It also features integrated interior lighting. There is an enlarged 4.3” touch panel display and a cleaner loading bay with repositioned controls. The printer has an automatic fine-head-height adjuster and a simpler macro head-height setting. This allows for maximum quality, maximum speed, and minimal hassle.

Upgraded inks will also be available for the new model. UltraChrome DG2 was designed to be compatible with a larger range of fabric types, with improved colour and reduced bleeding. Like its predecessor, this new ink also works with DTF workflows.

Bigger ink pouches to reduce waste

True to Epson’s continued commitment on sustainability, the SC-F2260 incorporates a number of features to reduce waste and expense. It uses 800ml ink bags that are not only 33 percent larger than cartridges of the previous model, but also contain a lot less material. The printer also does not have a fan, which makes it run more quietly and doesn’t require regular filter replacement.

As with its predecessor, the new SureColor SC-F2260 incorporates a head that doesn’t require regular replacement. The productivity is increased, labour and parts costs are reduced and e-waste is kept to a minimal. If a head failure occurs, it is covered by the on-site comprehensive warranty. An optional CoverPlus extension can be added for up to five additional years. Epson Cloud Solution PORT is integrated into the new model, extending this warranty. Epson’s new PORT service not only provides enhanced operator monitoring tools (with web and mobile access) but also enhanced service support; if a problem occurs Epson technicians can directly dial in, analyse the fault, and seek rapid resolution.

“With the SureColor F2260 Epson has further refined DTG while opening up the world of direct-to-film to customers with consistent high-quality imaging and durable cost-effective operation.” Said Gordon Kerr, Business Marketing Manager, Epson Australia Limited.

Australia is likely to begin shipping the new SureColor SC-2260 in July 2023. New Zealand will be able to purchase the product in August.
